Early users noticed a few big issues in this year’s version of iOS, so it fumbled out of the gate. Perhaps this is why so many iPhone users are afraid to upgrade to iOS 15. Two weeks after its debut, iOS 15 has a much lower adoption rate than iOS 14 did at the same time last year.
Only 8.59 percent of consumers installed the new OS in the first two days, according to Mixpanel’s earlier analysis. By October 5th, 2021, the business predicts a 22.22 percent adoption rate. In comparison, iOS 14 was installed on 14.68% of devices in the first two days and 41.97% after two weeks.
However, keep in mind that Mixpanel acquired the information using its mobile SDK analytics, which counts website and app visits by iOS 15 users. As a result, their statistics may be slightly distorted. Last year’s statistics, on the other hand, were acquired in the same manner and were very close to the actual figures.
Even if there is some statistical variance, it will be insufficient to compensate for the difference in adoption rates between iOS 14 and iOS 15. It’s clear that iPhone owners are hesitant to move forward, at least for the time being. Apple has already solved the majority of the issues that plagued iOS 15, so expect things to pick up once iOS 15.1 and the following versions are released.
