Samsung Galaxy A13 4G Benchmarked, Featuring the Entry-level Exynos 850

Samsung’s lower-end Galaxy A phones have never prioritized performance. That doesn’t appear to be changing with the Galaxy A series’ next generation. The Samsung Galaxy A12’s future replacement was benchmarked with a two-year-old CPU yesterday.

The Samsung Galaxy A13 4G is currently featured in Geekbench, a cross-platform benchmark. It’s marked with the model number SM-A135F. The A13 4G’s system specs and pre-release scores are available on the public scorecard.

Samsung Galaxy A13 4G Featuring the Entry-level Exynos 850

The Exynos 850 chipset is at the heart of the Galaxy A13. It’s an entry-level SoC that came out in 2019, despite being constructed on an efficient 8nm node. It’s already two years old, so expect it to start showing signs of wear and tear soon. This chip’s single-core Mali G52 GPU is clocked at 950 MHz. All eight cores of the octa-core CPU running at 2GHz.

The new Samsung cheap smartphone has only 3GB of memory, which means multitasking will be limited. The Galaxy A13 4G, on the other hand, is powered by the latest OneUI 4, which is based on Android 12. Furthermore, Samsung promises two OS upgrades, implying that the A13 4G will be supported all the way up to Android 14.

The Exynos 850 chip’s low-end characteristics are reflected in the scorecard as well. When all cores are engaged, the Galaxy A13 4G scores 585 points. On single-core tests, the score reduces to 152 points. The Galaxy A12 from last year outperforms the A13 based only on raw benchmarks. On Geekbench 5, it scores 918 and 146 points, respectively.

The Galaxy A13 4G is now in mass production, so it shouldn’t be long until it makes its formal appearance. The Galaxy A13 5G variant is already available in the United States. It has a 720p, 90Hz display, 15W quick charging, MediaTek Dimensity 700, and a triple-lens camera.
