The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G will be the first Galaxy A phone to be released this year, according to reports. According to rumors, it will be released in February 2022. Samsung has been gathering product certifications, confirming the rumors. The Samsung Galaxy A32’s successor was recently discovered in an American government database.
The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G was registered with the Federal Communications Commission under the model number “SM-A336M/DSN.” The ‘DSN’ in the tag denotes dual SIM compatibility. The phone’s battery and charging specifications are also included in the required certification documentation.

The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G can charge up to 25W. However, the actual charger in the retail box will most likely be limited to 15W.
Although 15W is a fast-charging standard, in theory, it feels out of date in 2022.
The Galaxy A33 5G was also listed on the SafetyKorea certification database before passing the FCC testing. Its battery capacity was confirmed to be 5000 mAh in that listing. So there are no battery or charging improvements over the Galaxy A32 from last year. The device is expected to be added to Samsung’s price list in the near future.
However, according to various sources (including the respectable SamMobile publication), Samsung has obtained an IP rating for the Galaxy A33 this year. To be precise, the Ingress Protection 67 standard. The A33 can essentially live for up to 30 minutes in meter-deep water. Until today, the Galaxy A52 and A72 were the only phones that could withstand dust and water.
