According to Ice Universe, a reputable Chinese phone leaker, the manufacturer used the brand new 50MP GN5 sensor for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus and the standard S22 edition. It has a 1/1.57″ sensor with a maximum pixel size of 1.0 m.
The S22 has a larger image sensor than the S21 series, which has a 1/1.76″ sensor. In any case, the camera will not produce 50MP images, but rather 12.5MP images based on 2.0m superpixels. This sensor has an aperture of f/1.8. A 10MP telephoto lens joins the wide camera on Samsung’s latest Galaxy model.
It now has a 1/3.94″ sensor and 3x optical zoom. The current Galaxy S21 series is only capable of digital cropping zoom. Both zoom and wide-angle lenses should have optical image stabilization support.
Finally, an ultra-wide shooter completes this camera system. It has a 12MP f/2.55″ sensor, 1.4m pixel size, and an f/2.2 aperture. This camera is a direct descendant of the Galaxy S21 series. The same can be said for the Galaxy S22 and S2210MP +’s front-facing camera.
