Samsung Galaxy S22 phones certified with 25W wired charging

Samsung has certified the Galaxy S22 smartphones in China at 3C, and according to the listings, none of them will support more than 25W wired fast charging. Despite what prior rumors suggest, none of them, including the S22 Ultra, will receive the 45W standard.

It’s probable that this just applies to Qualcomm-powered devices; the S22 Ultra with Exynos 2200 and AMD’s custom-made GPU will be the only one with fast speeds, but it won’t be available in China, therefore it wasn’t included in the certification application.

**Samsung Galaxy S22 series on 3C (aka CCC)**

The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are labeled as SM-S9010, SM-S9060, and SM-S9080, respectively, with the last character being a 0 indicating that these are units intended for the Chinese market. They’ll all use the Samsung EP-TA800 25W adapter, which has been a part of Samsung’s portfolio since the Galaxy Note10 was released in August 2019.

If Samsung remains with 25W charging for another generation, it risks falling behind Android competitors, who typically provide charging speeds that are twice to three times faster, with some going as high as 125W.
