Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra to Feature a Cylindrical, Curved Display and Improved 108MP Camera

The seemingly never-ending stream of product leaks surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S22 series has revealed a detailed overview months before its official release. And phone leakers continue to add to that list on a daily basis. The most recent of these leaks provides information on the display and camera of the top-tier Galaxy S22 Ultra.

While the Galaxy S22 Ultra retains the 108MP resolution from last year, it uses a new and improved camera sensor, according to IceUniverse, a Chinese tipster with a proven track record for leaks of this nature. Our source did not reveal the sensor’s name, but we believe it’s the ISOCELL HM4 or HM5 — neither module has been officially announced.

Curved Display and Improved 108MP Camera

Although pixel binning technology still repackages these photos into 12MP images, the additional image data reveals more details. Without a doubt, the S22 Ultra will have the most powerful camera of any Samsung smartphone to date. In today’s world of smartphone cameras, hardware improvements are minor in comparison to the vast improvements achieved through the magic of software.

Samsung’s latest Galaxy phones will be available in February of next year, and the company is marketing the upcoming S22 Ultra as an S-series phone, but it’s actually a Galaxy Note in disguise. A Galaxy Note has a cylindrical design, a dedicated slot for the iconic S pen, and even a chin the size of the Note 20 Ultra.

IceUniverse predicts that the S22 Ultra’s display will curve more aggressively than the S21 Ultra’s. The fact that the S22 Ultra’s screen curvature is similar to that of the Note 10+ is also telling. The Galaxy S22 series isn’t expected to be released until next year, but more leaks are bound to occur in the meantime.
