Android 12, which was released earlier this month, arrived on Google’s Pixel smartphones a few days ago, following the announcement of the Pixel 6 duo. Those who own a non-Google phone, on the other hand, will have to wait at least a few months before they can get the stable Android 12 on their devices. However, some phone manufacturers, including Vivo, have already announced their Android 12 beta rollout plans.
The Android 12 update has been confirmed for 31 smartphones in the S, V, X, and Y series, and it will begin rolling out the beta version next month, with the X70 Pro+ being the first in line.
vivo will release the Android 12 beta for the X60 Pro+, X60 Pro, X60, V21, and Y72 5G in December. Surprisingly, the X70 Pro, which debuted alongside the X70 Pro+, will receive the beta build in January 2022. Other smartphones set to receive Android 12 beta this month include the V21e 5G, V20 2021, V20, Y21, Y51A, and Y31. The complete list of devices and release schedule can be found in the image below.
vivo hasn’t mentioned Funtouch OS 12, the latest version of its custom Android skin for global markets, anywhere in its official communications (Chinese units run Origin OS). However, because the X70 series is already available in international markets with Funtouch OS 12, the Android 12 beta update for the smartphones mentioned above is likely to include Funtouch OS 12.
It’s also worth noting that the Android 12 beta release schedule announced by Vivo today is only for India, and the rollout plan for other countries may differ.
