The Vivo Y21 is a newly released budget Vivo phone with a trendy, lightweight design and a fast-charging battery. The successor to last year’s Vivo mobile Y20 has arrived in several Asian markets, and Pakistan is the next stop. According to official sources, the phone will be available in three days. However, the phone is already available at some retailers.
Vivo has never been known for its low-cost smartphones. And the latest Y21 continues in this vein. What it lacks in value, the phone makes up for with its modern, sleek design. The Vivo Y21 has an 8mm thick flat edge chassis that supports the 2.5D shell. The body as a whole weighs only 182g.
The backplate’s frosted AG finish is available in two colors: the brilliantly textured Diamond Glow and the elegant-but-generic Midnight Blue. The power button on the Vivo Y21 also serves as a fingerprint scanner. You can also use the Face Wake feature for biometric security.
The Y21 begins to lag behind the competition on the screen. Vivo’s new phone model has a 6.51″ IPS LCD with a resolution of only 720P. There are no high refresh or touch sampling rates here. The display’s screen-to-body ratio is limited to 89 percent due to the thick bezel surrounding it. However, Vivo has included a blue light filter in the panel to protect your eyes.
The 5000 mAh battery inside the Vivo Y21 provides all-day battery life. Battery life can be extended with software tweaks. When you’re running low on power, the 18W charging support quickly recharges it. The phone’s MediaTek Helio P35 chipset is already three years old. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space.
The camera system is also nothing to write home about. It has 13MP wide, 2MP macro, and 8MP front-facing cameras. The Vivo Y21’s engine isn’t powerful enough to support a night mode, so the imaging modes are limited to AI bokeh, SuperHDR, and beauty filters. According to Prislo, the starting price is PKR 29,490.
