Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ leak hints at wider displays with almost no bezels

The Galaxy S22 family is surely on the way, but according to the latest insider information, the debut has been postponed in favor of a January release of the long-awaited Galaxy S21 FE. Meanwhile, leaks have continued to stream in, usually in the form of unofficial renders based on early information. Actual live photos of design features, such as the recently released S22 Ultra dummy unit, have been scarce.

According to a new leak from trustworthy source Ice universe, the front design of the forthcoming Galaxy S22 and S22+ has been revealed. However, these are not displayed glass modules, but rather tempered glass shields for forthcoming smartphones.

Because big case and accessory manufacturers tend to obtain overall dimensions and layout for smartphones early, this is a pretty common way to get early device leaks. The S22 series appears to be a little broader and less “thin and tall” than the current S21 generation. In addition, the edges appear to be gently rounded. Bezels are kept to a minimum on both sides and appear to be symmetrical. It should be noted, however, that screen protectors can be misleading in terms of bezel proportions. And, as far as we know, the S21 will feature a lesser 3,700 mAh battery, while the S22+ will reportedly have a 4,500 mAh battery.

Previously leaked renders of alleged Galaxy S22 Ultra with S Pen slot

To rehash some previous S22 speculations, all three models are expected to have a traditional punch hole selfie rather than an under-display selfie, with the normal S22 having a 6.1-inch display and the S22+ having a 6.6-inch display. The diagonal of the S22 Ultra is still a mystery to us.
The S22 and S22+ are expected to have a new main camera, Samsung’s ISOCELL GN5, which is a 50MP sensor with all-directional autofocus and large 1.0m pixels.
In terms of internals, we expect international versions to use an Exynos 2200 processor with an AMD-made GPU, while Chinese and US units will use Qualcomm’s next flagship offering.
