Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 to Feature Samsung's Ultra-thin Glass; Display & Launch Details Leaked

Xiaomi is working on a new Mi Mix Fold model (which debuted in Spring this year.) The new Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold 2 has already been shown in product certifications. Samsung is reportedly designing and manufacturing the flexible glass for the Mi Mix Fold 2.

Xiaomi is reportedly sourcing the flexible glass for the forthcoming Mi Mix Fold 2 from Samsung, according to reports from China. The Korean behemoth is the market leader in commercializing ‘Ultra-thin Glass.’

Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 Display & Launch Details Leaked

The display can fold in on itself because of the thinness of this UTG screen, which is only 0.03mm thick. The Find N from Oppo uses the same panel. Samsung’s exclusive material innovation ensures that it is robust without sacrificing performance. Although ultra-thin Glass isn’t the only choice for folding screens, standard polyimide panels are prone to breakage and scratching.

According to rumors, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold 2’s main display is an 8.1″ OLED. The Mix Fold 2 matches the size of a current tablet, unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Find N, which have sub-7.5″ screens.

In the first half of 2022, the new foldable is scheduled to be added to Xiaomi’s price list. The LTPO panels are supplied by Samsung and intelligently step up the refresh rate between 1 and 120Hz. These panels save energy and improve the visual experience. It’s also worth noting that Xiaomi is re-engineering the Mix Fold 2’s hinge.

Most importantly, Xiaomi is bringing the Mix Fold 2 to the global market. The original Mi Mix Fold was only available in China. According to reports, it will be released around the middle of 2022.
